Sutherland House and Nethergate School organised an indoor Key Stage 3/4 Football match

The team consisted of players from Sutherland House School wearing red football shirts or bibs and relevant footwear.  Nethergate wore a blue kit.  Before the game the students participated in a warmup passing activity and were briefed again on the rules of the game.

The students who represented Sutherland House School for this football event were Cody Alfred, Thomas Morley, Ethan Barnes, Mylo Peake, Riley Revill and Jacob Holden.   Each half consisted of 10 minutes with a five-minute half-time break. The final score was Sutherland House School 2 Nethergate 1.  Riley Revill and Thomas Morley scored a goal in each half of the game.  towards the end of the game. An absolute brilliant effort was displayed by all students with Ethan and Cody amazing at defending and Mylo and Jocob working incredibly hard in midfield.

After a break we mixed the schools together with 3 players from Sutherland House School joining Nethergate in green bibs. Again, the match lasted for a full twenty minutes, with the score 2-2 and again Thomas Morley and Riley Revill scoring in the game.

All the students enjoyed playing in a competitive Football match against another school in a large leisure centre hall with five a- side goals.

The students represented the school in a very positive manner and played the game fairly and to the rules.  They were very caring to the needs of the other team and displayed some incredible sportsmanship and positive values, for instance respecting referee decisions and shaking the oppositions hands at the end of both games.

The familiar staff that supported the students are very proud of their efforts.   There will be a full inclusive sporting calendar next year, 2025, that we look forward to entering and competing against other schools.  A return match will be organised against Nethergate with them coming over to Nottingham for the rematch.
