Students from SHS completed their Silver Duke of Edinburgh expedition and residential at Lea Green.
From Monday 30th June to Wednesday 2nd July, three students and three staff from Sutherland House School completed their Silver Duke of Edinburgh expedition and residential at Lea Green in the Peak District. Staying at Meadow Lodge, a cosy Victorian cottage, the group took part in a range of outdoor activities led by qualified instructors, including the Low Ropes Assault Course, pedal-powered Go Karts, and rock scrambling at Black Rocks.
The students showed great determination and teamwork throughout, especially during the challenging scrambling activity. They also enjoyed educational visits to Matlock Farm and Aquarium, and scenic walks along the High Peak Trail and River Derwent, ending with a well-earned chip shop treat and amusements. Evenings were spent cooking, relaxing, and enjoying the Lea Green site.

On the final day of the expedition, the group celebrated their achievement with a visit to McDonald's before heading home.
All students successfully completed their Silver Award, congratulations to them for their hard work and resilience!
A big thank you to the staff for their support and encouragement throughout the journey.
