Four Students represented SHS in an inclusive running event

September 25, 2025
On Tuesday 23rd September 2025, four students represented Sutherland House School in an inclusive running event at Harvey Haddon Stadium in Bilborough, Nottingham.
We arrived at the Harvey Haddon for 10:20am so that we could register our students, warm up and become familiar with the athletic running track.
Some of the students ran with a familiar member of staff whilst Joshua ran independently.
Each student ran around the 400-metre track and passed the baton onto a classmate. Jake took the first lap, followed by McKenzie, Kurt took the third lap and the fourth by Joshua.

A brilliant effort was displayed by all the students, and they should be very proud of their efforts. In total the school team ran an incredible 13 laps in just over 40 minutes!
This matched our school record set last academic year. The running track was very busy with over 100 students representing over ten schools.

The event was a great success, and this is the seventh occasion we have entered a team into an inclusive running event! We look forward already to next year.
Well done to all those involved, all the staff are proud of your efforts.
