Students from SHS have been harvesting from the school allotment

This September the DofE Bronze and Silver groups have been harvesting fruit and vegetables from the school allotment in St Ann’s Nottingham.
This year the apples, pears and damsons have been particularly good. Students are encouraged to take the fruit home, leave in the staff room and eat straight from the tree! They have also enjoyed eating the raspberries and blackberries – the Harvest Gold raspberry a favourite.
The students have been digging up the potatoes, and these have been selected and taken to the school kitchen. The kitchen staff were very grateful. Matt pealed, boiled them and they were served 24 hours after been harvested.

Fresh food for our students straight from the allotment!
