Students from SHS were invited to participate in a KS4 Dodgeball event organised by Nottingham City Council.

Dodgeball is a fast-paced game with students throwing the ball at an opposing team attempting to hit them, catch the ball and therefore scoring points. The rules for this inclusive tournament are slightly different with no one being knocked out of the game. Teams consisted of 5 players each side with a maximum of 6 allowed to play. Points are scored from either catching the ball or hitting an opponent with the ball.

The students who represented SHS for this tournament were from KS4/5. They played students from five other schools. A brilliant effort displayed by all students who worked exceptionally well as a team, sharing the ball and communicating to each other. The students represented the school in a very positive manner and played the game fairly and to the rules. Shaking hands with the opposing schools at the end of the tournament was excellent to observe.
