Students participate in Inclusive KS3 Indoor Athletics Event

Students from Sutherland House School were invited to participate in an inclusive Key Stage 3 Indoor athletics event, organised by Notts Active.
The students who represented Sutherland House School for this tournament were three from Class 7 and three from Class 8.
This was the first time these students had participated at an indoor athletics event.
The students participated in four events:
Shuttle run: timed shuttle run between two cones. Timing how long it took to run 10 sprints.
Hoop challenge: 30 seconds and how many times you can complete a rotation through a hula-hoop.
Bean bag challenge: 30 seconds and how many times you can aim six bean bags in a hula hoop.
Team Relays: four in a team running from the cone to a kick board and navigating different obstacles such as: hurdle, hoops, tunnels.
The students represented the school in a very positive manner, displayed great teamwork, improved individual scores and more importantly enjoyed themselves. All the above participate in core PE lessons at Sutherland House School these tournaments are evidence for the PE Life Skills Award.
